A plea to Scouts: Don’t let the ‘bad guys’ win

Really? "Don't let the 'bad guys' win?" What a load of crap!! Equating being Gay with being 'bad' is the lowest and basest form of attack I can think of, short of calling someone a racist without any viable truth. Just because you're Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual or Trans-Gender, doesn't mean you're bad. You're just different. It's like being white or black, European, African, or Asian. You don't choose your sexuality, anymore than you can choose your race. (Note, I did not include the various religions in this comparison, since you can change your religion if you want to.)

I find it unfortunate, that people like this, from American Family Association give Right Wing Conservatives a bad name. I myself, generally call myself a conservative. Which applies to most issues. This however, is not one of them. In my opinion, these people make Attila the Hun look like the Cookie Monster. Is it any wonder that Gay bashing, both physical and verbal still exists?

Take my advice, you're a known member of your local LGBT community, legally arm yourself. Start a Pink Pistols Chapter in your area. Learn how to use your weapon of choice. Get a license to carry if required where you live, and make sure you keep on living.

One News Now story starts below.

Leaders of traditional values groups believe if the Boy Scouts changes its policy regarding homosexuals as members and leaders, that organization could be deeply hurt.

The proposal under consideration by the Boy Scouts of America, announced Monday, would remove sexual orientation from the national membership restriction and permit regional counsels to make their own decisions about membership.

"Currently, the BSA is discussing potentially removing the national membership restriction regarding sexual orientation," read a statement released yesterday by the Scouts' leadership. "This would mean there would no longer be any national policy regarding sexual orientation, but that the chartered organizations that oversee and deliver Scouting would accept membership and select leaders consistent with their organization's mission, principles or religious beliefs. BSA members and parents would be able to choose a local unit which best meets the needs of their families.
