Suspects caught in act of burglarizing home in Lonedell
Tri-County Journal

Two suspects are in custody after a Lonedell man caught them burglarizing a house.
On Tuesday, Sept. 19, Franklin County deputies responded to a call about an interrupted burglary at a Lonedell house.
Police said the wife of the homeowner had driven by the house and saw a truck backed up to the porch. The house was unoccupied, police said.
The homeowner and his father-in-law returned to the house and the two suspects tried to flee. The father-in-law, a registered concealed carry permit holder, drew his gun and ordered the two suspects to the ground.
The suspects complied and the father-in-law kept the suspects on the ground until police arrived.
The suspects, a 50-year-old St. Clair man and an 18-year-old Lonedell man, were arrested and later confessed to stealing items from the house.
Their names are being withheld pending issuance of warrants.
