The latest crazyness from "The PEN" (The People's Email Network)

Yesterday, I received the following from "The PEN." Some of my comments are
interspersed in parenthesis, and colored red.
Take ALL Tax Cuts Out Of Economic Stimulus Package, They Won't Win A Single Republican Vote Anyway

Haven't We Learned Yet That Tax Cuts Do LITTLE To Stimulate The Economy (Apparently you haven't learned that tax cuts DO stimulate the economy.)

The whole reason we are in the economic perilous straits we are in right now, is the lunatic Republican fixation on tax cuts, (BZZZT!! WRONG. The WHOLE reason we are in this mess is the way the Democratic led Congress and Senate screwed up the Credit industry, insisting they make home loans to people who really couldn't afford it. IF you want some one to blame, look to Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and who ever else was responsible for the Fanny Mae debacle.) which all competent economists (read left wing loon economists) agree are the WORST way to boost the economy. People need real jobs with real wages, and until they get them they will not have any taxes to cut. And until people have jobs, and are making money again, the economy does not have a prayer.

But even so, president Obama tried in a bipartisan way (Bipartisan my ass. The current Democratic version of bipartisanship is we make the laws and you sign on the dotted line, or else.) to build lots of tax cuts (and even more in Democratic pork) into the package for the Republicans to try to placate them, hundreds of billion of dollars worth. And what did the Republicans in the House do? They just spit in his face. Not ONE Republican voted for the bill, not one!! (THANK the GODS and GODDESSES!) All of the tax cuts need to come out, all of them, and be put into infrastructure building jobs instead. And then we'll have a bill that actually works for America.

No Tax Cuts For Stimulus Action Page:

People like Rush Limbaugh have said straight up they just want our new president to fail. (You obviously don't listen to the man, if you did, you'd know how wrong you are.) That's how much they hate America, (Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?) after all the damage they have done, they just want to do more. And whether the rest of the Republican party says it out loud or not, they just want to sabotage any possible recovery so they can seize power again. (You really are stupid, aren't you.)

So what's the point of crippling our own recovery plan with yet more tax cuts (Don't forget the pork that was put in too.) which have NEVER worked in the past, and which even the Republicans DO NOT support? Instead, we say take ALL the tax cuts out, and then let's have a national debate on why Republicans are obstructing the change(Change? Looks to me like business as usual, for a Democrat controlled congress and Senate that is.) that America voted for in such overwhelming margins. (I wouldn't call 53% to 46% an overwhelming margin. That's a difference of what? Four or five percent. A winning margin to be sure. But overwhelming? Hardly.)

And because it is such an important action, every return page from every action page on our site from now on will include the new Local State Prosecutor lookup, where you can instantly get the contact information for the district attorney in your county, to write or call or fax them to demand they prosecute Bush and Cheney for the murder of citizens of their county, in a war based on patently false pretenses in Iraq. (I would think, the detainees in Gitmo would be more likely targets for murder prosecution, since many of them pulled the trigger.)

Renowned former prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi (No wonder he's "Former prosecutor.") has laid out a compelling case for charging both Bush and Cheney with the premediated (I think you mean "premeditated.") murder of American service men and women, for starting a war with Iraq on patently false pretenses. By using this new lookup page you can instantly get the mailing address, phone, fax, and in many cases also the email of your local prosecutor. This action is SO critical we have also dedicated our entire main site homepage to it.

Local Prosecutor Lookup: http://www.peaceteam.net

IMPORTANT NOTE: We are not asking anyone to file a "formal" criminal complaint yourself. Common sense tells us that a state prosecutor will only act, in the exercise of their OWN discretion, if they believe there is a non-frivolous case to bring. But by speaking out, we can let them know there is community support for them to do so.

We cannot depend only on the single chance of Attorney General Nominee Holder taking aggressive and righteous action. There has been entirely too much "sweep it all under the rug" talk in the White House transition. But there are nearly 3,000 county level state prosecutors in the country. (Who have absolutely NO JURISDICTION to file a case) (I think this next word should start with an uppercase "A." I mean, really, dude, get a spell checker or something.)and they aren't ALL complacent toadies. So as much of an improvement as Holder may be, only pressure from all flanks will compel him to act. And some state prosecutors, prosecuting their own cases, is just the formula.

It seems the entire corporate media is trying to sing the same song of inaction, to try to smear as being "hateful" anyone who loves and wants to restore the constitution. What a smear on the idea of upholding the rule of law to characterize anyone who thinks that monstrous war crimes actually ought to be prosecuted as just being out for "revenge". (Odd, I don't hear you crying about prosecuting the war criminals we have in Gitmo. Or is that just us seeking revenge?)

Friends, the same demons and their proteges who committed all the crimes which now so shame us will be back even stronger before we know it, unless Bush and Cheney are prosecuted now. Now we learn there was not a single member of the media who was not illegally and systematically wiredtapped. (I think they meant "wire tapped") We were that close to a totalitarian police state,(And with Obama in Office, we are only getting closer.) and we have but a small window of opportunity to keep from endorsing the crimes of the future, by prosecuting NOW (Really? You want to prosecute the National Organization for Women???) to the full extent and duty of the law.

Imagine what it would be like if we found just ONE crusading state prosecutor to respond to the call of destiny. Imagine what it would be like if a DOZEN or more suddenly sprang into action, because of our many letters, and phone calls, and faxes and emails. We can open up an whole new third front, and keep it open.

And after you use the local prosecutor lookup, from the same page you can also request one of the new "Convict Dick & W" caps from the same page, complete with a little embroidered cowboy hat on the "W". Yes, a tiny cowboy hat for a very small man, the Cowboy from Connecticut, our first presidential felon to be, George Bush. It's perfect. (I take back what I said earlier. You're not stupid. You plain out nuts.)

Please take action NOW, so we can win all victories that are supposed to be ours, and forward this alert as widely as possible.

A retraction, of sorts.

I've come to the conclusion that my previous pronouncement about Barack Obama being our first affirmative action president, is slightly off. In spite of what some other members of the VRWC think, I believe affirmative action had little to do with his selection. However, SELECTION is the key word. Obama was selected by the Main Stream Media (MSM) to be the next president. And make no mistake, they did everything in their power to see to it, that THEIR selection won.

This past election day, the people did not win. Not by a long shot. Instead, the self-appointed demagogues of the 4th Estate, they won. We the People, lost, big time.

Use the First, Lose the Second

From Gunsmagazine.com
David Codrea

All he wanted was to talk to his representative about a political issue — something supposedly guaranteed by the First Amendment’s right to petition clause. True, being an activist with the Minutemen and wanting to discuss concerns over criminal illegal alien activity wasn’t exactly something he expected would resonate with Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY), but over the years, Gabriel Razzano had established a rapport with her chief of staff, who had even visited him at his home.

Except there was now a new chief, Razzano found out when he paid a visit to McCarthy’s office. And he didn’t return calls. So Razzano returned to McCarthy’s office to make an appointment, and this time was informed he was no longer one of her constituents due to reapportionment. They promised they’d straighten things out, but a week later, not having heard from them, he came back. They instructed him to go to the board of elections, which he did, returning with a “stamped official copy of his Certificate of Registration along with a Voter Registration Printout,” both confirming he was a McCarthy constituent. Proof in hand, he went back to her office....(click the title to read the whole story.)

I knew there was a reason I didn't like New York. Draconian gun laws are not the hallmark of a free state.

Michael Moore's Open Letter to CNN

An Open Letter to CNN from Michael Moore
7/14/07

Dear CNN,

Well, the week is over -- and still no apology, no retraction, no correction of your glaring mistakes.

I bet you thought my dust-up with Wolf Blitzer was just a cool ratings coup, that you really wouldn't have to correct the false statements you made about "Sicko." I bet you thought I was just going to go quietly away.

Think again. I'm about to become your worst nightmare. 'Cause I ain't ever going away. Not until you set the record straight, and apologize to your viewers. "The Most Trusted Name in News?" I think it's safe to say you can retire that slogan.

You have an occasional segment called "Keeping Them Honest." But who keeps you honest? After what the public saw with your report on "Sicko," and how many inaccuracies that report contained, how can anyone believe anything you say on your network? In the old days, before the Internet, you could get away with it. Your victims had no way to set the record straight, to show the viewers how you had misrepresented the truth. But now, we can post the truth -- and back it up with evidence and facts -- on the web, for all to see. And boy, judging from the mail both you and I have been receiving, the evidence I have posted on my site about your "Sicko" piece has led millions now to question your honesty.

I won't waste your time rehashing your errors. You know what they are. What I want to do is help you come clean. Admit you were wrong. What is the shame in that? We all make mistakes. I know it's hard to admit it when you've screwed up, but it's also liberating and cathartic. It not only makes you a better person, it helps prevent you from screwing up again. Imagine how many people will be drawn to a network that says, "We made a mistake. We're human. We're sorry. We will make mistakes in the future -- but we will always correct them so that you know you can trust us." Now, how hard would that really be?

As you know, I hold no personal animosity against you or any of your staff. You and your parent company have been very good to me over the years. You distributed my first film, "Roger & Me" and you published "Dude, Where's My Country?" Larry King has had me on twice in the last two weeks. I couldn't ask for better treatment.

That's why I was so stunned when you let a doctor who knows a lot about brain surgery -- but apparently very little about public policy -- do a "fact check" story, not on the medical issues in "Sicko," but rather on the economic and political information in the film. Is this why there has been a delay in your apology, because you are trying to get a DOCTOR to say he was wrong? Please tell him not to worry, no one is filing a malpractice claim against him. Dr. Gupta does excellent and compassionate stories on CNN about people's health and how we can take better care of ourselves. But when it came time to discuss universal health care, he rushed together a bunch of sloppy -- and old -- research. When his producer called us about his report the day before it aired, we sent to her, in an email, all the evidence so that he wouldn't make any mistakes on air. He chose to ignore ALL the evidence, and ran with all his falsehoods -- even though he had been given the facts a full day before! How could that happen? And now, for 5 days, I have posted on my website, for all to see, every mistake and error he made.

You, on the other hand, in the face of this overwhelming evidence and a huge public backlash, have chosen to remain silent, probably praying and hoping this will all go away.

Well it isn't. We are now going to start looking into the veracity of other reports you have aired on other topics. Nothing you say now can be believed. In 2002, the New York Times busted you for bringing celebrities on your shows and not telling your viewers they were paid spokespeople for the pharmaceutical companies. You promised never to do it again. But there you were, in 2005, talking to Joe Theismann, on air, as he pushed some drug company-sponsored website on prostate health. You said nothing about about his affiliation with GlaxoSmithKline.

Clearly, no one is keeping you honest, so I guess I'm going to have to do that job, too. $1.5 billion is spent each year by the drug companies on ads on CNN and the other four networks. I'm sure that has nothing to do with any of this. After all, if someone gave me $1.5 billion, I have to admit, I might say a kind word or two about them. Who wouldn't?!

I expect CNN to put this matter to rest. Say you're sorry and correct your story -- like any good journalist would.

Then we can get back to more important things. Like a REAL discussion about our broken health care system. Everything else is a distraction from what really matters.

Yours,
Michael Moore
mmflint@aol.com
www.michaelmoore.com

P.S. If you also want to apologize for not doing your job at the start of the Iraq War, I'm sure most Americans would be very happy to accept your apology. You and the other networks were willing partners with Bush, flying flags all over the TV screens and never asking the hard questions that you should have asked. You might have prevented a war. You might have saved the lives of those 3,610 soldiers who are no longer with us. Instead, you blew air kisses at a commander in chief who clearly was making it all up. Millions of us knew that -- why didn't you? I think you did. And, in my opinion, that makes you responsible for this war. Instead of doing the job the founding fathers wanted you to do -- keeping those in power honest (that's why they made it the FIRST amendment) -- you and much of the media went on the attack against the few public figures like myself who dared to question the nightmare we were about to enter. You've never thanked me or the Dixie Chicks or Al Gore for doing your job for you. That's OK. Just tell the truth from this point on.

What really gets me, is his last sentence, in his PS. "Just tell the truth from this point on." GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK! He wants CNN to tell the truth? How about a little truth from him, for a change? SHEESH!!

What is it with the "Hate monger" and "Racist" tags?

Really, I'd like to know. Why is it, those on the political left feel it necessary to call those on the political right things like "racist," "hatemonger," and others. Or course, these people don't stop there. Anyone who comes out in support of Coulter, Limbaugh, or Hannity, get labeled "knuckledraggers."

What gets me is so many on the left claim to be "tolerant" or more accepting of the Gay lifestyle. Yet, when it came down to whether or not to allow Gay marriage, the majority in Michigan voted for an amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman. I find it really strange, when you consider that these same people voted for a democrat for senator, and this same majority gave this state's electoral votes to John Kerry.

With so-called friends like these, I think we're better off with our enemies. At least with them, we know where we stand.

But to get back to Ann Coulter, I suppose I'm just ticked off at the name calling. Yeah, I'm not happy with her use of fag in referring to John Edwards....although, he is kinda cute.

Still, I do understand the context that it was used. She was referring to the incident that occurred among the cast of "Grey's Anatomy." Should she have used something else to insult John Edwards? Maybe. But then it seems to me, in the political scene of pundits, controversy seems to be the name of the game.

So, if I can see it, why can't everyone else? I am not an overly educated person. I graduated from high school, didn't go to college. Partly because I couldn't afford it, mostly because I never really liked school.

As for this person or persons who want to stop Ann from speaking at Cleary U, or rather, they don't want her to get paid for speaking. Having been invited to various Universities myself, I can tell you they just about always pay you for speaking. It's expected. I just wish I could get $30,000.00 for doing so. That would make my decade!

Raw Story's Forums?

(link)
The left wing site, "The Raw Story" USED to have a great forum. Now, in my humble opinion, they suck. I wondered what happened when I tried to log in and it said user did not exist. I first logged in early last year. It was a great forum then. Now, it looks like something I used 10 years ago.

Come on guys, get with the program. Wake up and smell the espresso, this is the 21st Century!
